The paper "Early Detection of Performance Regressions by Bridging Local Performance Data and Architectural Models" wins the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE 2025.

We are proud to announce that the paper “Early Detection of Performance Regressions by Bridging Local Performance Data and Architectural Models” by Lizhi Liao, Simon Eismann, Heng Li, Cor-Paul Bezemer, Diego Elias Costa, AndreĢ van Hoorn, and Weiyi Shang has received the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) 2025!

This work pioneers the integration of insights from small-scale performance testing data into software architecture models, enabling developers to detect end-to-end system performance regressions early in development, rather than relying on costly and delayed system performance testing. This novel approach offers a promising direction for addressing system performance regressions more efficiently and proactively, especially in the fast-paced software development era.

The paper is the result of a collaboration initiated within the SPEC RG DevOps Performance Working Group.
